Sam Houston State University Lowman Student Center
GES provided Construction Materials Testing (CMT) services for the Lowman Student Center (LSC) building addition on the Sam Houston State University (SHSU) campus. The building consisted of a 104,000 SF plan area, three story steel-frame building. The scope also includes a total of 24,000 SF of adjacent parking, drive, and sidewalk areas, 350 LF of retaining walls and a pedestrian bridge.
The CMT inspection scope for the project included monitoring of building pad, paving and utility earthwork, auger cast in place pile and pile cap foundation, conventional reinforcing steel, slab on grade and elevated deck concrete, structural steel inspections, and masonry mortar, grout and reinforcing.
