The Sovereign at Regent Square
GES provided Construction Materials Testing services for this 21-story residential tower with integral six story parking garage. The building structural design consisted post-tension reinforced cast in place concrete decks over an auger cast pile foundation.
Prior to construction, GES monitored the pile load testing and provided engineering guidance in regards to the required pile lengths. Ultimately, the building foundation consisted of 790 auger cast piles extending to depths of 86 feet.
GES’ QC testing and inspection scope during construction included foundation, pavement and utility earthwork, auger cast piles, cast in place concrete, conventional and post tension concrete reinforcing, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel inspections.
The project included a significant amount of utility construction and rehabilitation of adjoining roadways. All utility and roadway testing and inspection was performed to City of Houston standards.
